A city of culture, of elegance. Upon arrival to Portugal’s charming capital I was seduced right away. With its majestic architecture, warm breeze and smiling faces, Lisbon welcomed me with open arms.
My hotel was perfectly situated in the charismatic pedestrianised streets, central to all you could possibly want. The sea, the shops, the metro, the restaurants, all within a walk of minutes. Simply fabulous. Even the beautiful hilltop castle was within a comfortable fifteen minutes reach on foot. On foot! Here you could gaze out at the sea of orange rooftops, delicately staggered and undeniably beautiful. Undeniably Lisbon. Amidst the crowds of people and echoing street music there was an air of calm, of stillness, as though nothing could pour rain over the city’s distinct charm and character. Lisbon is one of those destinations you vow to return to, and I hope I am able to keep to my word as this city well and truly swept me off my feet.
I have chosen some of my favourite photographs from my city break, and I hope they convey to you just how mesmerising Lisbon can be.
